"The Lights Of Zetar"

Losers! You're all a bunch of losers!

The Bills had the lead 16-7 with under six minutes left. Then The Pats got DAMN lucky as a play that should have been overturned (the ball WAS down) was not and they then scored a touchdown to make it 16-14. Then Kelly (Holcomb not Jim) fumbles the ball on the next drive at the 23 yard line giving the Pats the ball back. 2 plays later (and at 5:35 on the clock....not 25 seconds have gone by since it was 16-7) they score ANOTHER TD and the score is 21-16.

Okay, the Bills get the ball and are driving. They have a chance. Then on 3rd and 5 they get a 1st down, but its called back on OFFENSIVE pass interference. Ball turns over when Holcomb passes the ball NOT TO THE OPEN RECEIVER past the 1st down marker, but rather to the man in double coverage 7 yards behind the line.

Anyways Pats get the ball back with 2:00 mins left to go, and the Bills have one time out. They stop the Pats and force a punt. Instead of downing the ball with 14 secs left on the clock, the idiot punt return man decided to run around in and out of the endzone (flirting with a safety) and finally has the common sense to run out of bounds with 3 friggin seconds left.

One forward latteral pass later, play blown dead, game over.

Bills are 3-5 on the season.

I still have 6 tickets available for the Dec 17th matchup (sat. nite 8:30) against the 6-2 Broncos. 50 bucks a piece. 1st come 1st serve.

Eyes with Pride

Tonight was my sisters final performance in competition with the JHS marching band. This ends ten years (well 8 actually over 10 years but...) of envolvement by the Osborne siblings in the JHS Red Raider Marching Band. I am very proud of my sister for being in the band, and the fact that she was the colour guard captain (co-). I hope (and think I know) that she had as much fun during the last four years as I had when I was in it. I also hope she plains on still going to shows next year, because I still want to go, and the more the merrier. Congratulations Erika, I am so proud of you!

And Jamestown should have won it. "Jamestown" is so much easier to spell than "Copaique" (sp?) ----->see<------

Anyway,

peace out you beatnik nerfherders

"That Which Survives"

THE GRAND OLD BLOGSITE

What a crazy time we are living in. Hurricanes, Killer Avian Flu Strains, Evil Goateed Iraqis and Iranians, shifty eyed Asians, and a conspiracy to give the American League Team (whoever it happens to be) an unfair advantage in the World Series.

And lets not forget that pagan holiday coming up where kids dress up like devils and worship ghosts!

I optimistically give this country about 50 years before we are flat on our backs living off the goodwill (hopefully) of other countries.

What is the solution, you ask?

glad you did!

1. Invade Iran

2. Invade North Korea

3. Invade Canada

4. Take back the Panama Canal

5. Annex Hong Kong, Thailand, and Taiwan

6. Stick it to the French and those limey Brits

7. Invade the Democratic Party Headquaters (see Axis of Evil)

8. Abortions for none

9. Supreme Court Nominees? Nah, lets give judge jury and executioner rights to the Prez!

10. Shoot all the Gays. Maybe not. "Recondition" them.

11. Send former Gays to invade Cuba

12. Abolish Catholicism

These are just a few solutions to the problem. USA USA USA!!!

Hmmm.......... don't know much about that.

This is Alex and that is all a load of shit up there, like you couldnt figure that one out for yourselves.

What have I got to say? Not much. I am thankful I have less than a month and a half of school left. I am looking into possibly taking some classes through empire state in the spring if I do not get into Fredonia. Options people options.

I got a 99 on my last math test. Sacre Merde!

I am so happy (even happier than last year) that the White Sox won the series. Just an amazig performance by them. Lets look back at my predictions from earlier this month on the playoffs.

45 days until Goblet of Fire.

So here is how it fares in the playoffs.

Round 1: White Sox -vs- Red sox....I want to see the Chisox go over here.

Angels -vs- Yankees... come one...Angels here.

Round 2: IF it is Angels -vs- White Sox, then I want the White Sox. If it is Angels vs Red Sox, then the Red Sox. If it is Yankees -vs- either Sox, than whichever Sox make it.

From the NL, come on...I wanna see an NLCS rematch of Astros -vs- Cards. And this time may the Astros go on to the Series.

In the World Series, I will root for Either Sox team over ANY NL TEAM. I will root for the Angels ONLY against the Padres or Braves. I will root for ANY NL TEAM over the Yankees.

So ...my ranking would be ....either Sox, Astros, Cardinals, Angels, Braves, Padres, Yankees.

Just wanted to say this now so I get no slack in a couple of weeks for rooting for "this team" over "that team" or ya know.

Radical

Well, it is only 21 days and 9 hours and 8 minutes (from typing this ) to Goblet of Fire now.

And my predictions were DEAD ON this Year, and I got EXACTLY what I wanted!

Radical indeed!

And We Bid You Goodnight

"The Mark Of Gideon"

Now that that unpleasantness is behind us forever...

Eric Johannson is the new LP (loss prevention) associate for Sears Lakewood NY. Problems do I have with this? You bet your sweet...ASS I do! this kid got FIRED for CALLING IN all the time. So they reward him by rehiring him and putting him in one of the most important roles in the store.

I get fired for calling in. I asked for MY JOB BACK yesterday. You know what they told me? You were fired for calling in. We dont rehire people who get fired for that reason.

Fuck You Sears. Fuck you Eric Johannson. Fuck you!

"Let That Be Your Last Battlefield"

So I did my oral group presentation today on Wilson/Lodge and Americas place amongst the nations of Europe following WW1. Managed to get a Pro-Bush Lynch mob after me. We started talking about how America is faced with the same problems today: Should we police the world or should we be more concerned with our own business here at home, and to what extent do balance the two?

Well, of course this just HAD to lead to the topic of 9/11 and how the war in Iraq was a bi-product of this terrorist act. Thats when all of the republican lovers started running their mouthes about how we had to attack Iraq because of their involvement in 9/11, to which I questioned (what involvement?) and stated oh no, it had nothing to do with the fact the Saddam tried to kill W's daddy (and really, who during the Bush adminisration did NOT want to kill him?)...

I dared to utter the damned words of "Michael" and "Moore" in the same sentence which caused the full wrath of hell to be unleashed upon me. They were telling me how happy ALL of Iraq is because we liberated them, and how the people attacking us arent even Iraqi Nationalist, and they have NO RIGHT INTERFERING IN IRAQI POLICY!!!! Dont even get me started on the idiocy of that statement. I guess I found out the hard way that I was the only democrate in the room, or if not that none of the other anti-bushist were brave enough to speak up.

I was called "anti-american" and was told that I am a "racist" and a "hater". I asked what am I racist against, and was answered "freedom".

I cant wait until class on Monday.

"Whom Gods Destroy"

The White Sox are going to the World Series for the 1st time since 1959. They have not won the series since 1917. One year before the Red Sox won it last (before last year).

Im passing all of my classed now, I actually got a B+ on my english essay...what?

Life. Don't talk to me about life.

Dont have a lot to say right now. kind of tired. think its time to watch the simpsons and fall asleep.

spent 3 night now watching the best of Cartman on Comedy Central. I should have a cheery disposition tomorrow.

"Elaan Of Troyius"

Mr. Bond is Mr. Blonde. I know that their is a Perfect Dark Reference in there somewhere.

I watched "Iron Jawed Angels" this week in my US Hist. 2 class. I thought going into it that it would suck (seemed to be a major chick flick), but hot damn it was good. Has to do with womens right to vote. It stars Hillary Swank (she's a girl ya know...) and a chick that looks like the girl that did the top 10 video countdown on MTV circa 1989.

Downloaded some Ugly Kid Joe, Neil Diamond, Ozzy, and Meatloaf. all over the freakin' page.

Heard that the fat fuck who fired me from Sears got fired himself. Mama I"m coming home!

For Fox and CBS and NBC on Wensday nights at 9:00, they must realize that their ratings hopes are now LOST

I wonder how many people started up groups called the "Dharma Initiative"? Probably about as many people who have been playing the numbers "4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42" on their lottery ticket.

177,000 people.

Frylock: Shake, how many TVs have you broken this year?

Master Shake: A *lot* more than *you* have!

"The Empath"

2 months ago I brought to you my summer experiences from 99 to this current year. Now I will do the same with Fall 98 through this current year. You probably wont enjoy, but I dont really care.

Fall of 1998. Senior Year had just begun. I found myself in a health class, the only senior surrounded by tons of freshmen. This was one of my many classes labeled as "easy as hell". In Marching Band we were doing Les Miserables (sp?). I really enjoyed every ascpet of my senior marhing band year. I had a fun squad, I was their leader and we had some awesome tailgate parties. Alot of other squads looked down on us, but dammit, we had fun. We enjoyed ourselves. What else, I am finding that maybe the fall was not as memorable as summer.

Lets see, Yankees beat the Padres in the World Series. Swept them they did.

Fall 99: Fazolis. Blech. Went to West Virginia to visit Katie and Andy. Dragged Hajis ass to Concert Band. Had to sit in the JHS parking lot every day to bring ppl home from school. Mets braves had a great playoff series, I remeber Robin Venturas game winning Grand Slam. (or was that 2000?)... First semester at JCC. the Porn mobile drove on of its own accord until it met a fire hydrant headon. I would tell you of the christmas cactus but that is for a seperate column. lets see, I went to my first enjoyable homecoming, (yes it was AFTER I graduated). paid the lady at mcdonalds in change after me and 6B fled the scene. Ojo my ass. Sang in the 75th JHS Vesper Service. Signed the molotov-ribbentrop treaty, formed the new scottish gentry...

Fall 00: Kevin and Eliza (AND BILL) all ditch me for college. Damn your eyes! Subway Series took place. Finally got to eat in a booth up at Davies of all places. Grapepicking at an inappropriate time. all we were doing was studying biology. advanced biology. fuck ski club, and embarce perfect dark. thank you adam. Stood outside in the pouring rain at Darien Lake for Phish on sept 14th. Hey, it built character Josh. Love, and destroy. great policy. Auntie Annes pretzels was where it was at.

Fall 01: Went from Clarinets to Flutes. and back to clarinets in december. drove cars that I should have been renting out, sold satellite dishes, and got some free rentals from blockbuster. learned how much I hated german exchange students. Diamondbacks defeat Yankees! Took a LOT of walks, and became obsessed with the upcoming Lord of the Rings film. Fuck that Harry Potter dickwad ( I said back then). Threw my back out for the first time.

Fall 02: Angels beat Giants. JHS Marching Band won state championships, it was my sisters freshman year. I was working at Sears Shoes. bowled alot and learned how to play darts. was a blind fool who did not know when to go and when to stop. oh well. made some great films driving around at night. By far the least memorable Fall. We waited to Die Another Day with the latest James Bond Flick.

Fall 03: Much more interesting. I had 6B down at JCC with me. the yankees were back in the world series and were beat by the marlins in six games. Started going to Mileys more and more. I was working in electronics now, and drinking even more while on the job. Lets see, also met Mary Kate at Kevins. Started dating her a month later.

Fall 04: Alone. Moved to 20 colfax st Apt 1 with Joy and Mark. Crystal too. Red Sox win. They toook long enough. Weekly Hold em tournaments. miss those. spent a couple of weeks avoiding this pcyho girl Jim and Melissa tried to hook me up with. went to a great bills game. life was good. working full time at sears. actually being able to spend 150 dollars on groceries every 2 weeks, and pay for rent and utilities and all that jazz.

Fall 05: Well, its 19 days into the fall season, and lets see...I've gone to 2 Sabres games, i am in my FINAL FINAL FINAL semester at JCC, thank God, and I have moved back home because Sears fired me. I hear that the idiot who did fire me is gone himself, so YES, I plan on begging for my job back. I think I have a good chance. what will the next few 2 and a half months hold in stock for me? Stay tuned and find out yourself.

I AM going to the Bills Jets game this Sunday, going to go up on saturday night in an RV and get Trashed my friends. And I am going to the Bills Broncos game on Dec.17th. Go Sox...white that is.

touching me touching you

"Wink Of An Eye"

You would be confused as well.

These are the essay topics, in their original text for my english test today.

Respond to two of the quesitons below. Read them all with care, expecting that you will not know the answer right away. (that's because the answer doesn't exist yet.)

The high-quality essay will take a reasonable, supportable position on the questions issue, and it will contain plenty of evidence drawn from the literature we've studied. It will also be largely free of error and observe the usual conventions of academic writing in the humanities. If you borrow from a source other than the literature itself, cite it informally, like this: "As the Encyclopdia Britannica article called "Beowulf" points out,...". Fifty points per essay possible.

1. Consider "Dream of the Rood" as devotional literature that often employs secular figurative devices--metaphors drawn from nonreligious realms of human experience, for one example. Develop as essay that includes precise examples of both the devotional theme and the secular literary techniques.

2. We Know theres a danger in reading older heroic literature as if it works the way an archaeological excavation does. Beowulf is a collectionof legends, transmitted orally for scores of years before the single written copy that exists was made. All the sane, it is possible yo say that we know the Anglo-Saxon times better after reading Beowulf, so long as we are careful about what we mean by "know better".

What do you think Beowulf is reliable evidence of, in historical or anthropological terms? Don't just distinguish the plausible from the fanciful; I don't need to be told that there were probably no dragons in England in the 800's. Begin with this assumption: the poem's audience was eager to find itself in the poem, and the poet was eager to be well received by his audience. Generalize responsibly about the society depicted in the poem- what were its assumptions about itself and others, what did it value and what did it despise, what are its beliefs about living honorably and dishonorably?

3. Or do the same thing for Sir Gawain and the Green Knight.

4. Or if youre more interested in art than history, construct an essay that identifies the poetic qualities of Sir gawain. Consider the way the poem would sound when read aloud.-patterns of sound and structure-and look also at matters of meaning-plot, characterization, and especially theme.

so yeah, I know I failed that one.

"Plato's Stepchildren"

...we came in?

Well, I have now had my first test in all of my classes except Brit lit. That is on Thursday.

I actually got a 92 on my math test. Dont know about the historys yet.

Currently downloading the new Franz Ferdinand album.

Sabres tomorrow. And I get to watch ALL Sabres games again as Time Warner has now picked up MSG.

Go in for my second day of training at Walden Books tonight.

After one day I already have that feeling in the pit of my stomache. I hate the mall. I hate retail. I hate waiting on people. I feel pointless.

Dont think this job will last past Christmas. They are all girls there and all have this sort of air to them that I cant place, but I feel a little unwelcome. I guess it is just that I know I will never be out drinking with these co-workers or even playing hold 'em.

There are some out there who will say that I am impossible to please.

They are right. I cannot be pleased it would seem.

And it isnt that I do not want to work. I do. I just want to have a REAL job.

Well, Im done here for now. See you when I see you.

isnt this where...

"The Tholian Web"

My how time is flying by. October is here already. Hockey starts in 2 days, the Bills are already in "rebuilding mode", and the baseball playoffs are nigh at hand.

I am going to the opening game up at HSBC, and I cannot wait. Really, I am quite excited.

I got hired at Walden Books. We will see how that goes. It is nice to be back at a job where one has reasonable customers.

I have my 1st test tonight in WW2 class. Should be a great one.

I really do not have much today. School gets al my attention nowadays.

45 days until Goblet of Fire.

So here is how it fares in the playoffs.

Round 1: White Sox -vs- Red sox....I want to see the Chisox go over here.
