"The Naked Now"

Well well well. I have officially become the tutor of my math class now, as I stayed half an hour after class today helping students on their homework that were failing the class. Who would have thought it!

I lost two games of poker this past week, so I guess that makes up for not playing last week.

Just when I thought school was getting easy it got a whole lot harder. I have two five page essays I have to write for my World War Two Final, both due on the 19th. And the project I have due this friday for US His.2 is not coming along well at all.

Rolling stones are the SuperBowl half time geriatric act. Never knew that a rolling stone could gather that much moss...

Yahoo! told me that we are this close to discovering a vaccine for the AIDS virus.

The Indianapolis Colts are going to run the table, thus sparing us from the celebration from all those ex-dolphins. As a Bills fan I say thank God!

One week from now I will have my full driving priveledges back. 90 days have never felt so long.

Tonights episode of "Lost" entitled "What Kate Did" is the last new episode this year. The next new ep. airs on 1/10/06. Heartbreaking, but at least they aren't calling it the "Fall Finale" like Fox is doing for all their Fall shows that need a ratings booster shot.

New Aqua Teen Hunger Force episodes begin this Friday night at Midnight on Adult Swim. And if you haven't seen it yet, check out "The Boondocks".

"Encounter At Farpoint"

watched the family guy movie the other nite and it was hilarious. also watched hitch. i thought it was going to be a total bomb, but it actually provided some comedic moments. and finally watched kill bill for the second time, and enjoyed it even more this time through.

i have nothing to talk about, i just had to get the new titles rolling.

Carl: Okay Candy, I'm sorry - I guess we're not in America. I guess now I'm not allowed to pay for sex with pennies.

wensday was killer at the kiosk. slow day but didnt leave until close to like 11:00pm.

Thanksgiving day it snowed. alot. couldnt go to westfield to enjoy diner with my family, so me and my sister and parents (we were prepared for this event luckily) had a lovely turkey dinner here instead and watched the falcons steamroll the lions whilst the broncos and cowboys dueled it out in an insta-classic.

anyone who has seen "Rent" or "Walk The Line" or any other movie for that matter, please send me your thoughts, and even a full fledged review if you so wish it. as i am typing this it is 5 of 2am. in 3 hours the mall will be open. that is sick.

"All Our Yesterdays"

Thanksgiving break is upon us, or well me anyways.

i wish i could go out and drink and party every night with my friends who are back in town, but alas i cannot even afford the 75 cents mug night at wine cellar anymore!

haji, i am sorry i missed you saturday. hopefully i will catch you on new years when youre in town again. happy early birthday too.

same to you eliza if you happen to read this.

found out that all the opening shows for narnia in the area have already been sold out to various churches in the chautauqua county area. hmmm............

poor bills, losing 48-10...that one hurts. and how bout them bengals, hanging with the big boys. even in losing, they earned a victory in my eyes.

but, they still lost.

my next post will be #9 in the James Bond countdown. You can do one step better, and tune into TNN this week starting Wensday and catch their 007 marathon.

Thanksgivings....

2004: Well, I had just gotten back with mary kate after 2 months and a half of being broke up. Had diner at her place, as well as down at my cousins. Also had a special dinner that evening at my parents house for my roomates (joy crystal mark). the night ended down at mileys, early as it was because I had to be at work by 5:30 am for Black Friday. That was fun.

2003: Seem to remember dinner at my cousins, and at my house. me and mary kate had been dating for a couple of days at this point. Had a gathering at my house to play darts and such.

2002: schnars' house. my last few weeks of "seeing" nikki. dont remember much,,,

2001: dating nikki for a few months here at this point... do not remember alot either

2000: ........................

99L....................

well, i guess the only thanksgiving i remember well out side the last 2 years was thanksgiving 1995. Ten years ago at this time I was in NYC, a mere freshman in the JHS MArching Band, and we were out there to perform in the Macys Thanksgiving Parade. cannot even begin to believe that that was 10 years ago now.
awww fuck! I thought I looked like that rock!

"The Savage Curtain"

And now, bow to death Harry...

I was at the premiere (midnight) of Harry Potter and The Goblet Of Fire last night at the Chautauqua mall. I was disapointed with the lack of any line outside the theater, online ticket buying has KILLED the geekdom act of waiting in a line for insane amounts of hours. I was however the FIRST person into the theater, as I will make my own line if needs be, as I proved last night.

The previews were for "Monster House", a terrible looking animated movie, "King Kong" which looks great and I cannot wait for, some retarded looking animated penguin movie with Robin Williams, and "Superman Returns" which I say..."eh" for as I am not too into DC comics, or superman for that matter.

The movie itself...dark. left out way too much of the actual text for CGI stuff that looks good on screen. dont get me wrong, I loved the movie, and thought the five minute battle with the hungarian horntail looked superb, but is it worth sacrificing events of the book for events that are made up for the movie? I would rather have seen the Dursleys in the movie, and Dobby and winky, but as the director said, the winky story line didnt add anything to the plot. No Quiditch was shown at the Quiditch world cup, and Ludo Bagman does not exist in the movie realm.

Other than that, it was great. Ralph Fiennes was bloody brilliant in my opinion, even though he DID chew the scenary a tad. there were complaints from my sister that he did not look scary enough, but this IS coming from the person who sees herself as the future Mrs. Rupert Grint.

****1/4 stars. Cant give it the Five stars as it just left out too much from the book. understandable, but regretable nonetheless.

Order of the Phoenix begins filming in February. I dont see how this movie can be short of the four hour mark, or split into two films each clocking in at around 145 minutes a piece. It looks like most of the major actors will return for the fifth film, including the trio, so calm down.

And I ,like Ron, love the way Fleur walks.

"The Way To Eden"

It is hard to believe , but I only have 30 days left on my 90 day driving suspension. This next month and a half is going to be so awesome. Midnight showing of Harry Potter, Narnia, Thanksgiving, Christmas, 2 year anniversary, Bills game, full driving priveledges, graduation from JCC...so busy, so exciting.

Played Poker last night, me Travis, Travis (Kristens brother), Erik, Peter (Eriks brother), Ben, and myself. I was out on the 2nd hand. Then played it again and made it to the final table with Ben and lost. Hey, it was fun anyways.

Well, I guess I have the final headcount for (almost final that is) for the Bills game. Myself, Erik, Peter, their father, James, Chris, and most likely Ben and Joy.

I only have my oral presentation in WW2 left (next Monday), and then I can relax ALOT with the school work. Hopefully I will be able to work some more at Waldenbooks.

Stay tuned for #9 in my James Bond countdown.

PANAMA!

"Requim For Methuselah"

James Bond: Forgive me, Father, for I have sinned.

Q: That's putting things mildly, 007

The Poor Mans Movie Review for FOR YOUR EYES ONLY

CAST:

Roger Moore: James Bond

Carol Bouquet: Melina Havelock

Topol: Milos Columbo

Lynn-Holly Johnson: Bibi Dahl

Julian Glover: Aristotle Kristatos

Lois Maxwell: Miss Moneypenny

Desomond Llewelyn: Q

screenplay by Richard Maibaum andMichael G Wilson

stories (For Your Eyes Only, Risico) by Ian Fleming

Okay, getting away from the norm for a while I am going to count down my 10 favorite James Bond movies. And yes, # 10 is "For Your Eyes Only". After I do my top 10 favs, I think I will do my bottom feeder 10 for the Bond series. On with the show!

"For Your Eyes Only" was supposed to be the fourth movie made with Roger Moore as James Bond, but instead got pushed back to the fifth movie shown in theaters. This was due to the fact that MGM/UA felt that the fans had shown a strong support of Richard Kiels "Jaws" in "The Spy Who Loved Me", and they had planned on using him again in "Moonraker". Also the huge success of "Star Wars" at the box office made the producers think that Bond in Space was the way to go in 1978. This meant that "FYEO" got pushed back to 1981, and was therefore the only title used TWICE at the end of a Bond movie in the line "Bond will be back in_______".

The film opens up with Bond visiting the grave of his late wife Theresa (they have all the time in the world) only to be called away on seemingly official business. As it would turn it, it is actually an evil henchman in a mechanized wheelchair complete with evil looking white cat. They were not allowed to use the name "Blofeld" or "Spectre" after the movie "Diamonds Are Forever" due to a legal battle Cubby Broccoli and Ian Fleming actualy LOST to the co-write of the novel "Thunderball" Kevin McClory, so they used his likeness, and Bond soundly dumps him into a MAN-SIZED smoke stack. And on come the opening credits. Theme song is sung by Sheena Easton, and marks the 1st time the singers image appears during the credits.

A British ship disguised as a simply fishing boat as accidently bombed and sinks (and just happens to be carrying the precious encryption device ATAC). ATAC controls the British Polaris Missiles, and it is a race between MI6 and the KGB to salvage the wreck. The British government sends two specialists, The Havelocks, to try and salvage the wreckage, but are untimely gunned down by an unamed henchman just as theire daughter Melina comes to pay them a visit. Polly wants a piece of...nevermind.

Well, I will not go into a whole review of the movie. It is enough to say that I had a hard time picking out my top 10 favs, and my bottom 10s. I picked this one because I feel as if it was Roger Moores last good performance as James Bond. It was around this point that he and Lois Maxwell (who had been playing Miss Moneypenny since #2 produced "From Russia With Love") were becoming too old to be accepted in the roles they were protraying. I enjoyed Topols character, Columbo, as I felt that his performance called us back to "From Russia With Love"s Kerim Bay. I particulary liked the scenes where Bond and Melina are tied behind the boar being dragged over the coral for sharkbait. And some good chase scenes in the winter olympics make for some good fun filmmaking. Also, let us not forget the nail-biting rock climbing scene from the end of the movie.

***1/4

Well, that was my 1st attempt at writing a movie review. They will hopefully get better.

quick notes from the weekend. Friday, went to the Sabres game with my dad. We got a call on the way up there from a business associate of his, and got invited to upgrade our seats BIGTIME. We found ourselves up in the executive suites. Fucking A! Free pizza, wings, subs, cake, chicken fingers, coffee, pop, OPEN BAR!!!The pizza and wings were the BEST I have ever had, no joke.

Saturday I went with Mary Kate to her ex-bosses wedding. Fun time there, OPEN BAR at the reception afterwards down at the Season Ticket Restaurant in The institution. Was NOT impressed by the food. Only really enjoyed the keish and the meatballs. I have a real problem that some ppl think that if they serve you scant portions of food over the course of 5 hours and charge you 2 full tanks of gas per person, that it is automatically the best food ever.

No.
